Service Description

Take your skating development further with personalized instruction designed around the skaters individual needs, goals, and skating ability. Private lessons are offered independently as a freelance coach in either 30-minute or 1-hour sessions. Skaters can train one-on-one for highly individualized coaching or in a small group of up to 4 skaters, allowing each athlete to receive focused instruction and feedback. Lessons take place during Membership Ice. The arena charges an additional $7.50 per skater, per skate, paid separately from coaching fees. Skaters may also purchase a Membership Pass directly through the municipality. What We Can Work On Every session is tailored to the skater, with training that may include: -Skating technique and stride efficiency -Edge control and confidence -First-step acceleration and explosive starts -Power, speed and agility -Forward and backward skating -Crossovers and lateral movement -Stops, starts and rapid direction changes -Balance, stability and body positioning -Knee bend, weight transfer and proper skating mechanics -Quick feet and efficient recovery -Hockey-specific movement and skating patterns -Identifying and correcting individual weaknesses My specialty is breaking skating down beyond simply “move your feet faster.” We focus on understanding how the body creates and controls movement, building stronger positions, more efficient edges, better force production and the confidence to use those skills at game speed.
